The main event of the night will be a battle between former rivals Alex Pereira and Israel Adesanya for the vacant title at UFC Fight Night: Due to take place on Saturday. Since winning the title through a submission victory in the first round of a fight in the former’s home country, he has dominated Adesanya.

Despite their past rivalry, Adesanya is considered to be a slight favorite when it comes to the fight. In their most recent encounter, the former champion was able to get the better of the fight for most of it. However, during the final round, his title reign ended after a series of punches from Pereira.

During the media day for the event, Adesanya talked about his upcoming fight and how it feels like he has one shot at the title. He compared his upcoming bout to an event in a movie, stating that it is like an opportunity of a lifetime.

According to his coach Eugene Bareman, Adesanya has been asked to look back at his past and learn from his mistakes. He said that the former champion has been asked to improve his decision-making skills and flow in a fight.

The co-main event of the evening will feature a battle between Gilbert Burns and Jorge Masvidal, who were both former title challengers. A win for either fighter would put them in position to challenge for the belt once again. It occurred after Leon Edwards defeated former champion Khabib Nurmagomedov.
