The sport of championship heavyweight boxing is once more popular. The fight between Oleksandr Usyk and Anthony Joshua will decide three of the four major championships in the sport’s top level. On Saturday night, everything takes place inside the Jeddah Superdome in Saudi Arabia, with the main event broadcast live on DAZN (5:15 p.m. ET — subscribe now).
Usyk won the Cruiserweight World Boxing Super Series in 2018 by defeating Murat Gassiev in the championship match, unifying all four cruiserweight titles. He made his heavyweight debut in 2019, defeating Chazz Witherspoon and Derek Chisora in rather unimpressive fashion before once more demonstrating his superior pound-for-pound skill by outworking Joshua throughout the course of 12 rounds.
On Saturday, Joshua will try to win the title for the third time in his career. In June 2019, he too fell short to Andy Ruiz. Joshua was able to win the rematch with ease after making the necessary improvements.
